To test for Green belt, the student must compete in at least one tournament. To test for Blue belt, the student must compete in at least two tournaments. To test for 2nd grade Brown belt, the student must have competed in at least two intramural tournaments and one USERKC. The student must have the proper uniform requirements of a TKA patch, a U.S. flag, and a Korean flag on a white gi. NO EXCEPTIONS Important Notes Important Notes on Exams Students progress at their own pace. There is no set time span between belt ranks. Taking an exam is not the goal. The goal is to improve your martial arts. Exams are given in November, February, and June. Exams are also given at the summer and winter youth clinics and at summer camp. A provisional belt level may be assigned to a student lacking in one distinct area. Students must meet a minimum standard to pass. This standard is applied as objectively as possible. Students are not compared to each other but are instead compared to the minimum standard.
